Jamie Carragher instantly reacts to Everton win v West Ham United live on Sky Sports

Jamie Carragher was happy for the Everton fans after they won 1-0 away at West Ham on Sunday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal was enough for Sean Dyche’s side to secure all three points and move themselves – at least temporarily – five points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool legend Carragher spoke about how much the victory would have meant for the Toffees due to how low expectations are right now among Evertonians.

Everton

“For far too long, Everton have been really struggling, especially away,” Carragher said on Sky Sports Main Event at full-time on Sunday (29 October, 2:59pm).

“That’s seven points they’ve picked up [away from home] now, two wins and a draw against Sheffield United.

“It feels like a huge victory for them.

“It gives a little bit of breathing space between themselves and the bottom three.

“For those fans, what they’ve been through the last few years, that’s where they think they’re going to be but they’re a little bit clear of that now.”

Everton

Superb

Everton were fantastic at the London Stadium.

Many will say about how West Ham had more shots and more of the ball but they were ultimately useless with it and didn’t create any clearcut chances for themselves.

Everton should have scored one or two before Calvert-Lewin pulled off an incredible Cruyff Turn on the edge of the box to fire a shot in past Alphonse Areola and then the England striker also hit the post after that.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaly Mykolenko were class as well.

It was a superb team performance with almost everyone playing out of their skin to bring home three points.

If we avoid a heavy points deduction, we’ll be safe from relegation because Dyche is working miracles with what he’s got and the players are starting to put their bodies on the line for him.

More of this please, Everton.
