Kieran Maguire makes ‘huge’ 777 takeover admission at Everton

Kieran Maguire has named Everton alongside Reading and Sheffield Wednesday as the clubs he is most concerned about with their ownership situation.

The finance expert shared his belief that going from Farhad Moshiri to 777 Partners is like going out of the frying pan and straight into the fire.

He also questioned whether the purchase deal for 777 would go through, claiming there are still “huge” question marks surrounding the potential takeover after several negative reports recently.

Speaking on The Price Of Football podcast [30 October], Maguire named the Toffees alongside Reading and Sheffield Wednesday as the three clubs he is particularly concerned for, saying: “It’s got to be Everton.

“The conduct of Moshiri, the unease that you have in relation to 777 Partners, and it does look like if the deal goes through, and it’s a huge if, then we’re talking frying pan into fire.

“Those are the three clubs of whom I have to most concern with regard to their immediate futures.”

Concerns continue to stack up

The quote from Maguire should not come as too much of a surprise to Everton fans, with the ongoing financial and ownership situations in the background a huge cause for concern in terms of the long and short-term future of the club.

Concerns are continuing to rise over the potential 777 Partners takeover, with the latest reports suggesting that other potential buyers are watching on in case the deal collapses in the near future, and this is not lending itself to any feeling of security at Goodison Park.

Everton

With the threat of a potential points deduction now looming over the club, as well as plenty of other financial issues largely surrounding loans and repayments owed over the coming months and years, Everton are far from secure in their current state.

With Sean Dyche and his team earning results on the pitch, the on-field situation at Goodison Park is serving as a much-needed distraction to fans given the seemingly endless behind-the-scenes turmoil.
