Everton fans ‘dreaming of higher peaks’ after what happened recently – Sky Sports journalist

Everton fans are “dreaming of higher peaks” after winning four of their last six matches, according to Sky Sports journalist Ben Grounds.

The Toffees have defeated West Ham, Bournemouth and Brentford in the Premier League within that recent run of games.

They also beat Aston Villa in the League Cup third round, having suffered league defeats against Luton Town and Liverpool.

“Sean Dyche has become accustomed to working under pressure since his arrival on Merseyside, but a run of four wins in six games has got fans dreaming of higher peaks,” Grounds wrote for Sky Sports.

“The Everton boss always thought his side were playing well without getting the results they deserve but has recently seen his side convert performances into points.”

Turning point?

Everton supporters have been through more ups than downs in recent years, with the Toffees struggling in relegation battles in the last two Premier League campaigns.

They managed to make it out alive on both occasions, but have been dragged into the same scenario once again this time around.

They have, however, produced some impressive displays, with Dyche’s side now turning those displays into some much-needed wins.

The points have gradually lifted the Merseyside club away from the dreaded relegation zone, with a cup run also on the cards after the victory against Aston Villa.

The man in the dugout now has a familiar foe to get past in the round of 16 as Burnley visit Goodison Park on Wednesday (1 November).

The Clarets will be eyeing a turnaround in fortunes and a cup run of their own, but if Everton play like they did against West Ham on Sunday (29 October) then they should make it into the next round.

In other Everton news, Chris Sutton has shared a “realistic” Toffees expectation as a relegation claim is made live on BBC.
