Arnaut Danjuma and Beto likely to start for Everton v Burnley in Carabao Cup

Arnaut Danjuma and Beto are likely to start for Everton in their Carabao Cup clash with Burnley on Wednesday night, according to Liverpool Echo.

The Toffees have won four of their last six games in all competitions and are looking to make it to the quarter-finals against Sean Dyche’s old side at Goodison Park.

But while Beto and Danjuma are likely to come into the side with Dyche making changes, the game will still come too early for long-term absentees Dele Alli and Andre Gomes while Seamus Coleman is unlikely to be fit despite returning to training recently.

“In doing so, the Blues boss will perhaps be able to call on the members of his squad who have found minutes hard to come by in recent weeks, with summer signings Beto and Arnaut Danjuma likely to start,” they wrote.

“Everton, however, will continue to be without Dele and Andre Gomes who are yet to feature this campaign. Neither has Seamus Coleman, although the club captain has been pictured back in training lately. However, the last-16 clash could come too soon for Coleman.”

Interesting

The one area of the pitch where Everton have got great options and solid depth is attack, and that means these changes are a good thing.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in exceptional form in recent weeks and his goal at the weekend was fantastic, but three games in a week has never been great for his body and the Premier League has to take more of a priority than the Carabao Cup.

With Beto looking to get back in the goals this would be a great opportunity for him to get some sharpness and minutes in his legs, while Danjuma has found himself behind Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison in the pecking order.

The Dutch winger has been electric when he has played and this would be a great option to have in the side, and while Coleman is edging closer to a return this is also a chance for Patterson to keep his place at right-back too.
