Everton ready to never let Dele Alli play for them again as Kevin Thelwell approach made
Everton have started talks with Tottenham in a bid to waive a £10million transfer clause, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their website on Thursday (2 November) that if Alli, 27, makes 20 appearances for the Blues, they will pay £10million to Spurs. However, due to the Merseyside club’s “dire financial predicament”, they will not allow him to play any further games until they can re-negotiate that clause with the Londoners.
Sean Dyche has now confirmed “background talks” have started with Tottenham with director of football Kevin Thelwell approaching the Premier League leaders in an attempt to get that multi-million fee waived.

Sorry state of affairs
It’s a shame that Alli’s career is being seriously affected by Everton’s financial state.
If the midfielder needs anything right now, it’s the ability to be able to get his head down and train hard in a bid to win a place in Dyche’s matchday squad.
Alli has been through an extremely tough time, not just at Everton, but throughout his whole life.
Things haven’t gone at all the way they were meant to at Goodison Park but at least the Toffees are trying to make an effort to rescue this young man’s career.
Everyone knows the kind of talent Alli possesses but personal issues, fitness issues and, now, Everton’s financial issues have gotten in his way.
The ex-Spurs midfielder would be a great addition to Dyche’s squad if the Blues can find out a way to get him to play and we do hope that the North London side can sympathise and offer one of their best players from the last decade a chance to redeem himself.
Unfortunately, football is a business and there are no businessmen in the Premier League like Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who might not be interested in waiving the chance to pocket £10million.
Either way, it doesn’t look like he’s going to get it so he might as well cancel that agreement.
In other Everton news, the Blues cannot afford to lose Amadou Onana as transfer news emerges.
