777 Partners want to fund Everton transfer blitz in January, Goodison staff in hot pursuit of Maxi Araujo

777 Partners want to fund an Everton January transfer blitz, with the Toffees currently tracking Toluca’s Maxi Araujo, according to FootballTransfers.

The publication reported on its website on Sunday (5 November) that both Everton and Real Betis have been monitoring the 23-year-old.

The left-sided player, who can play at full-back or on the wing, is also a member of the Uruguay national team, with six caps to his name.

“Everton are tracking Maxi Araujo ahead of the January transfer window, FootballTransfers can reveal. Sources tell us that the Merseyside club’s recruitment team have been closely monitoring the 23-year-old’s performances this season for the Mexican club Toluca.

“Araujo is contracted until June 2026 but is thought to be open to a move to Europe, with Real Betis also believed to be keen.

“We understand that Everton are set for a proactive 2024 window, with 777 hoping to bring in several names to bolster the side.”

New faces incoming?

Everton boss Sean Dyche did his best to strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Beto, Ashley Young and Jack Harrison arriving at Goodison Park.

And after some initial struggles, the Toffees are now finding a bit of form, with a hard-fought point against Brighton their most recent result.

The Merseyside outfit led for the majority of the game at Goodison Park on Saturday (4 November) thanks to Vitaliy Mykolenko’s early goal, but the hosts were denied all three points when Young netted an own goal late on.

Still, the Toffees should be proud of clinching a draw against a very talented Brighton side, with the point edging them further up the table and importantly away from the bottom three.

But more new faces will definitely help Dyche in that aim of climbing the ranks, so arrivals do look likely in the upcoming January transfer window, if the club can afford them.
