Journalist spots ‘touching’ moment from Everton players in 1-1 draw v Brighton
Every outfield Everton player celebrated with Vitalii Mykolenko after his goal against Brighton, according to the Liverpool Echo’s Joe Thomas.
The left-back netted in the seventh minute of the Premier League clash with the Seagulls on Saturday (4 November).
A late own goal from Ashley Young saw the match at Goodison Park end 1-1, leaving the Toffees sitting 15th in the table.

“Vitalii Mykolenko’s goal was the crowning moment of a series of impressive displays by the left back,” Thomas wrote for the Liverpool Echo.
“The 24-year-old has grown in stature since forcing his way into the starting XI against Arsenal and impressed that day against Bukayo Saka and then recently against Mohamed Salah in the Merseyside derby.
“It was only his second goal for Everton – his first being the stunning volley that helped the Blues to a crucial win at Leicester City under Frank Lampard. The joy of his team-mates was clear to see and every outfield player ran over to celebrate the goal with him in a touching display of his popularity.”

Top display
Mykolenko hasn’t always been a regular in the Everton team, but his manager perhaps cannot afford to drop him at this stage given his recent displays.
The left-back impressed at both ends of the pitch against Brighton, and is now certain to be in the starting XI for the coming months.
He is clearly popular among the players at Goodison Park, and now fans of the club are also starting to realise his potential.
The full-back certainly dealt very well with star wingers Saka and Salah not too long ago, and he produced a similar display against a very talented Brighton attack.
It was an impressive performance overall from the Toffees, who will both be happy and frustrated with the point. They led the way for most of the match at Goodison Park, only for Young to knock the ball past his own goalkeeper Jordan Pickford late on in proceedings.
In other Everton news, a pundit has slammed the Toffees live on BBC after an “unthinkable” incident against Brighton.
