Things have developed closer to home since that visit, with Dein present alongside Farhad Moshiri and Josh Wander for Everton’s win over Burnley in the Carabao Cup.

The Times has since reported that Wander and Steve Pesko have been given the green light by the FA to become club directors if the takeover goes ahead.

Positive signs?

It looks as though things are finally starting to move in the right direction.

Takeovers are complex and this was always going to take a long period of time, but the business end appears to be emerging with different developments every other day.

The news that Wander has been given the director’s green light by the FA is a huge step, and it may have something to do with the presence of Dein, a highly influential figure within the game.

Partner that with the fact he has since been spotted taking in the action at Goodison Park with all smiles, you start to wonder if things are getting close.

Wander is playing the smart game while all of these different pieces of news continue to emerge within the media, he is just getting on with his business.

Time will tell, but it looks as though this meeting back in Miami may have paid off, or is certainly starting to.
