Sean Dyche plans clear to see as league-topping Sky Sports statistics emerge, but Everton fans will worry

Everton manager Sean Dyche has set up his team in a certain way this season, with the boss clearly favouring a very specific style of play.

And while it didn’t work in the early stages of the new Premier League campaign, it is starting to pay dividends somewhat.

The Toffees remain in 16th place in the table and dangerously close to the relegation zone, but it looks like they may have enough to creep up the standings as the months go on.

The Goodison Park have picked up two wins and one draw from their last four matches, with their only loss in that run coming to fierce rivals Liverpool.

And the victories and draw were all very impressive, with three points taken from West Ham and Bournemouth and one taken from Brighton.

The latest figures from Sky Sports (9 November) now paint a picture of how Dyche has instructed his players to play.

The website reported that Everton rank second for distance covered in the Premier League this season, while ranking top for tackles and fast breaks.

Moreover, the Toffees rank second for winning aerials and duels, while their 2,416 individual player pressures place them at the very top of the list in that regard.

But while all of that hard work will please Everton supporters, the club’s position in the table will not, with only five points separating them from the bottom three.

Fans of the Merseyside club will also be fully aware that they have been helped out by the massive struggles of the newly promoted teams and Bournemouth.

If the Cherries, Luton Town, Sheffield United and Burnley do manage to get their act together, it will pile the pressure on Dyche and his players, who could either thrive or crumble under such a scenario.

In other Everton news, a former Toffees chief has shared a Dyche “stability” prediction at the Goodison Park club.
