Journalist shares unseen Sean Dyche moment in Crystal Palace v Everton
Journalist Joe Thomas has shared an unseen Sean Dyche moment in which the Everton manager “looked nervous” for the first time in his tenure.
The Toffees maintained their impressive run of form with a 3-2 victory at Selhurst Park in Saturday’s (11 November) Premier League contest.
Idrissa Gueye restored Everton’s lead in the 86th minute, shortly before the TV feed in the press box cut to Dyche in the visiting side’s dugout.

Speaking on the Liverpool Echo’s Royal Blue podcast [14 November, 12m 18s], Thomas said: “One of the things I found interesting was, with about five minutes to go and Everton leading, the camera picked up Sean Dyche.
“I’m not sure if this was shown on Match of the Day, but he looked nervous, apprehensive. That’s the first time I’ve seen him look like that in an Everton dugout.
“I think that probably gives a sense of him realising that he was on the cusp of taking a bigger leap forward than just the result in isolation would look.
“It was a result that had real meaning and depth to it because of what has gone on before it.”
Corner turned
The victory at Selhurst Park really was massive for Everton as it ensures there is an eight-point gap on the Premier League relegation zone.
It was a continuation of some impressive results over the past few weeks, having also won at West Ham and drawn with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Throw into the mix the 3-0 Carabao Cup last-16 win over Burnley, and it is fair to say Everton are in a very good place right now.

Dyche deserves huge credit for sticking to his guns after a terrible start to the campaign, which already feels like a distant memory.
The experienced manager had things tough in the first couple of months of the campaign, but a corner has now well and truly been turned.
Everton can now enter their next fixture at home to Manchester United on 26 November with some real confidence for the first time in a while.
One thing is for sure: there is no need for Dyche to cut a nervous figure on the sidelines in that match.
In other Everton news, an international manager has said a Toffees first-teamer is on course to take the next step in his career.
