Abdoulaye Doucoure makes Everton future admission after what he did

Abdoulaye Doucoure has revealed that he is “more than happy” to stay at Everton after signing a new deal at Goodison Park on 3 November.

Speaking on the Toffees’ website on Wednesday (15 November), the Mali international said he wants to repay the fans’ love for him and give everything for the club after penning a new deal until June 2025.

The 30-year-old added that things “feel great” at Goodison Park at the moment and that matters on the pitch are moving in the right direction as the Blues look to have a more successful season than the past couple of campaigns.

“At the moment things feel great,” said Doucoure. “We know this season we wanted to change things compared to the last two seasons. We are going the right way but we want to keep going.

“I feel the love here, I am very happy. I committed last week to a new contract with the club, so obviously I am more than happy to stay here. I love the fans, the way they look at me and love me, I just want to repay that back and give everything for the club.”

Looking forward

It’s been a solid past couple of months for Everton as they continue their surge up the Premier League table following a difficult start to the season.

The news that Doucoure has signed a new deal to remain at Goodison Park for another year was very well received by the fans as he has emerged as a key part of Sean Dyche’s side.

It sounds as though the midfielder is really enjoying his time at the club at the moment and he’ll be looking to keep improving alongside the rest of the squad over the next few months.

He’s registered four goals in the league this season after the Toffees boss has looked to play him in an advanced role behind forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The pair have struck up a decent partnership over the past few weeks and that will be important for the Blues if they are to compete higher up in the table this season.
