Andy Dunn moots ‘big trouble’ for Manchester City amid latest Everton ‘outrage’
Andy Dunn has suggested that Manchester City could find themselves in “big trouble” after a 10-point deduction which has left Everton in a state of “outrage.”
Writing in the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (19 November, page 69), Dunn has pointed out that if any of Manchester City’s 115 charges stick, they will find themselves in “big trouble.”
This comes after Everton were handed a 10-point deduction on Friday 17 November, for their breach of the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules, a punishment which Dunn has labelled “draconian.”
The Mirror’s Chief Sports Writer believes that Everton’s “outrage” is “understandable,” describing the current Financial Fair Play rules as “anything but fair.”

It is hard to disagree with the closing statement in Dunn’s column. Everton supporters will surely want to see an even more severe punishment handed to Manchester City if they are to feel any sort of acceptance toward their own punishment.
The Premier League have now set a strong precedent, and it is one which they cannot afford to back down from. If City are not punished for any of the 115 charges against them, after Everton were deducted ten points, there will be some serious eyebrows raised around the country and a lot of explaining for the Premier League to do.
In terms of on the pitch, this will certainly build a big resilience around Goodison Park as they now find themselves in another fight to get out of trouble despite their impressive run of form.
Merseyside will certainly be an interesting place to be when Manchester United are in town on Sunday 26 November.
