Arsenal star William Saliba in hilarious mix-up over Everton boss Sean Dyche
Arsenal star William Saliba has been caught in a hilarious mix-up over Everton boss Sean Dyche.
In a video posted on NBC Sports Soccer’s Twitter page on Wednesday (22 November), the French international was shown pictures of former Gunners players and asked to name them – something he did with very little effect.
The most jaw-dropping answer saw the 22-year-old defender mistake the Toffees manager for an image of Swiss centre-back Philippe Senderos.
“It is the coach of Everton?” Saliba asked tentatively when shown a picture of Senderos.
The interviewer then said: “No, it looks like him. This one is a Swiss defender.”
“No, I don’t know him,” replied the Arsenal man.
Shocking
The football knowledge Saliba showed in the video was absolutely shocking and it’s made particularly worse by the fact all those players played for his current employer.
The defender actually only got four answers correct and each of the players shown to him has played for the club in the past 15 years.
The funniest answer by far, though, was his mix-up of Dyche and Senderos as the defender even had a head full of hair in the photo.

While a similarity could be drawn between the two men once the former shaved his hair off later on in his career, Dyche is 14 years older than him and his playing days never reached the heights of that level.
You would expect a professional footballer to know a bit more about the history of his club – or just the sport in general – but you certainly wouldn’t want Saliba in your team for a sports quiz, that’s for sure.
In other Everton news, a Jack Harrison clause has emerged after a “bizarre” turn of events.
