Angry Roy Keane reaction at Everton fans amid loss to Manchester United spotted as footage emerges from Goodison Park

Footage has emerged of Roy Keane angrily gesturing at Everton supporters during the game against Manchester Untied at Goodison Park.

The Sky Sports pundit was in the studio covering the game for the broadcaster on 26 November, and spoke after the game of supporters directing anger towards the panel as they were “angry with everybody”, with a clip on Twitter appearing to show his reaction at the time.

In the video the former Manchester United captain can be seen pointing towards the supporters in the stands and then towards the pitch during the 3-0 away victory on Sunday evening.

Despite having more possession, shots, shots on target and corners Everton fell to defeat thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial amid protests against the Premier League and the 10-point penalty imposed on the club.

Combative

Toffees supporters are fairly angry at the whole footballing establishment at the moment, since it is not them who has either caused or imposed the latest struggle on their team.

He isn’t anything to do with the punishment but as a high-profile former captain of the visiting side and pundit on the league’s broadcast partner it appears Keane was the target for some stick on the night, and true to form was prepared to give it back.

He looks like he was telling fans to concentrate on the game and if so he probably had a point, but his comments after the final whistle suggest there was no lasting harm done from the interaction and he also believes Sean Dyche’s squad is a good group who can get out of trouble still.

Everton

Although the VAR intervention to overturn what John Brooks had called a dive by Anthony Martial to a penalty for a clumsy foul by Ashley Young infuriated supporters at the time it was fortune more than the authorities that was against the home side in the loss.

The goal of Garnacho’s life was the sort of strike that rarely ever flies straight in and the penalty, which surely was, owed more to Young’s carelessness than anything else.

Had Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dwight McNeil, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucouré had a bit of extra edge in front of goal, and if Andre Onana and Kobbie Mainoo hadn’t done well to keep chances out, then Everton could have feasibly been out of sight by half time.

As it was the feeling of injustice around the fanbase wasn’t assuaged by the result at all and with the appeal against the points deduction still to come the same atmosphere will likely follow the team around for a while yet.

In other Everton news, Martin Samuel claims the Premier League has been exposed as “bent” by the punishment on the Toffees.
