Arnaut Danjuma must step up at Everton after a ridiculous ‘lucky’ comment from his agent

Arnaut Danjuma must step up his performances at Everton after his agent appeared to make a dig at Sean Dyche, claiming you have to be lucky to make an impact on his team.

Speaking to Voetbal International [27 November], Simon Cziommer, the agent, seemed to hint that the lack of playing time for his client was restricting his ability to impact the team under Dyche’s guidance.

He also claimed that you just have to work hard and show 100% to impress the boss before being lucky enough to prove you can make a difference in his team.

However, there is much more than luck that comes into it. Regardless of whether he works hard in training, Danjuma’s on-field performances have simply not been good enough to merit more of a key role in the team. That’s not luck, it’s simply not performing.

While minutes have been something of a luxury to the Dutchman, playing a total of just 41 minutes since 21 October, his performances have not earned the chance for more involvement.

In the 3-0 defeat against Manchester United last time out, Danjuma was given 17 minutes to impress, but his 0% cross accuracy, 0% dribble success rate, 54% passing accuracy and giving the ball away more times [11] than he completed passes [7] was simply not good enough. [Sofascore]

His last appearance in the league before that was against Liverpool at Anfield in which he completed just one pass in 10 minutes with an accuracy of 25%, and before that, his 14-minute cameo against Luton saw him lose every duel he was involved in, have a 0% crossing accuracy, and complete just three passes.

To put it simply, the much-anticipated loan arrival in the summer transfer window has been a flop. He has failed to earn his opportunities under Dyche and, when called upon, has not stepped up.

Maybe his agent should stop worrying about luck, and get him to pick up his lacklustre displays on the pitch.
