Paul Merson predicts result of Everton Premier League clash v Nottingham Forest
Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of the Premier League clash between Nottingham Forest and Everton this weekend.
The Toffees were beaten 3-0 last time out by Manchester United to keep them in the relegation zone, while Forest suffered defeat to Brighton and currently sit in 15th place, eight points above the bottom three.
But speaking to Sportskeeda (30 November), Merson believes Everton chasing Forest after their 10 point deduction could see them come out firing and backed the blues to pick up all three points on the road.

“I thought Everton were going to cause Manchester United problems last week at Goodison Park,” he wrote. “But Alejandro Garnacho’s worldie took the stuffing out of them. They created really good chances in the first half but failed to take any of them and eventually lost by a big margin.
“Nottingham Forest huffed and puffed against Brighton last week. Take away the Toffees’ last result (the loss against Manchester United) and they’ve done decently of late. I’m gonna go with Everton here.
“It’s a massive game for them. If they lose this game to Forest, they’ll be 12 points behind them. Forest are one of the teams Everton will be looking to chase down and therefore, they need those three points here. Nottingham Forest 0-2 Everton.”
Must win
While a lot of people expected us to get a win at Goodison Park over Manchester United, the occasion seemingly got the better of most people and we ended up well beaten.
But the performance, especially in the first half, was promising and if we are able to turn in something similar once again here then three points is a very possible outcome.

We have the quality in the team to get this result, and Forest are hardly playing well themselves. Defensively they have been susceptible and we have got the players in the attacking third to punish them.
But away games in the Premier League are never easy and the City Ground will no doubt be rocking as their fans will realise how important this game could be for them too.
It will be an entertaining and closely fought game, bu Merson has been right quite a lot with his predictions in recent weeks so hopefully he can get this one right too.
