Gabby Agbonlahor predicts result of Everton showdown with Nottingham Forest for talkSPORT
Gabby Agbonlahor has predicted that Everton will remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League when they face Nottingham Forest on Sunday 3 December.
The Toffees travel to the City Ground off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United which ended a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions, and Agbonlahor believes that they’ll make it consecutive defeats, predicting a 1-0 home win for Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper’s side have lost their last two Premier League matches, including a 2-1 defeat to Brighton last time out, but talkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor believes that the home advantage will see Forest get the better of Sean Dyche’s team.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s Twitter account (30 November) he said: “Everton travel to Nottingham Forest, Nottingham Forest are in great form at home, look at what they did to Aston Villa who were on a great run at home themselves. Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa 2-0.
“Everton I think are in good form but I do think this is a tough one. Nottingham Forest will use their home advantage to get a result. I’m going to go for a tight game, but a 1-0 to Nottingham Forest, home win.”
Bounce back
Since the news emerged of the Toffees’ 10-point deduction, the mood around Goodison Park has been fairly miserable and the defeat to Manchester United last time out did very little to make the supporters feel more positive.
But outside of the final third, Everton’s display wasn’t that poor as they created a raft of chances and afforded the Red Devils very few clear-cut opportunities. If Everton play like that again this season, more often than not they’ll find the net and their results will begin to improve.

Sunday’s trip to the City Ground represents an excellent opportunity to lift the supporter’s mood and get fans back onside after a difficult few weeks at Merseyside. Forest may have impressed at home against Villa, but since then they have lost and conceded three to Brighton.
If Everton start taking their chances in front of goal, they can give Cooper’s Forest side a real test and there is no reason they can’t take all three points back to Goodison. A win wouldn’t be enough for the Toffees to climb out of the relegation zone, but it would be a huge step in the right direction.
