Here are our player ratings from the game:

Jordan Pickford – 7

According to Sofascore, he made five saves in the game. The first couple of big ones were to deny Mykhailo Mudryk and Cole Palmer. Throughout the clash, he commanded his penalty area extremely well, much to the delight of his teammates.

Ashley Young – 3

Got beat by Mudryk who found himself in a decent goal-scoring opportunity at the start of the game. The Ukrainian kept looking to exploit the Englishman with his pace. Is a favourite of Dyche and did very little to justify his inclusion. Most fans would’ve wanted Nathan Patterson to start in place of him anyway. It was another terrible performance from the veteran.

James Tarkowski – 8

Defended exceptionally well throughout the game and kept the Chelsea attackers at bay. Won crucial aerial duels and dominated proceedings at the back.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 7

In the 14th minute, was really tested by Armando Broja, but made an important challenge inside the box and cleanly won the ball with it going for a corner. Appeared to be playing with an injury and did an exceptional job in the circumstances.

Everton

Vitalii Myokolenko – 6

May have looked a tad shaky in possession but gave it his all going forward and was there to overlap whenever McNeil needed him to. It was a measured yet effective performance.

Jack Harrison – 7

Nearly scored in the first half in what was a performance worth writting home about. He looked lively down the right flank and whichever Chelsea left-back was on the field, he has a hard time dealing with Harrison.

James Garner – 5

Not an ideal performance from him as he was wayward with quite a few of his passes. His crosses and long balls did not find their desired targets on most occasions. However, he put in a shit off the ball for Everton which was key.

Everton

Idrissa Gueye – 4

Was wayward with his passing and amassed an accuracy of under 70 per cent. Oftentimes, he looked nervy on the ball and was deservedly taken off.

Dwight McNeil – 7

Made a lovely off the ball run which helped facilitate them scoring the opener and this is precisely why Dyche rates him so highly.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 9

Can’t appear to stop scoring at the moment. Had the awareness to be in the right place at the right time when Dominic Calvert-Lewin took a shot. Off the ball too, he gave it all for his teammate and he was undoubtedly the player of the match for the Everton side.

Everton

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6

Did not have too much luck in front of the goal himself but did a great job to take a shot in order to ensure the ball fell to Doucoure. It was an unbelievable piece of play that deserved the goal.

Subs

Nathan Patterson – 5

Amadou Onana – 6

Beto – 6

Lewis Dobbin – 7

In other Everton news, a journalist issued a “Huge embarrassment” for Farhad Moshiri claim amid the club’s recent takeover development.
