Everton takeover: 777 Partners director Johannes Spors and Kevin Thelwell hold further talks
777 Partners sporting director Johannes Sport has held talks with Kevin Thelwell in the last week about the Everton takeover, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Writing on their official website (12 December), the news outlet report that Spors was present at both of the Toffees’ home wins over Newcastle and Chelsea and held talks with the sporting director of the club while there.
777 Partners are still awaiting the green light for their takeover of Farhad Moshiri’s stake in the club, and have committed to funding the working capital of Everton until January 2024 at least while they wait.

“777 Partners sporting director Johannes Spors and his team were present at Goodison Park for both the wins over Newcastle United at Chelsea in the past seven days, with further dialogue held with Everton sporting director Kevin Thelwell,” they wrote.
Present
777 have made their presence at Everton far less public in recent times since big question marks were raised about whether they can actually take the club over or not.
But it’s clear they’re still making their presence felt behind the scenes and they’re still very interested in getting this deal done.
Everton need everything to get sorted as soon as possible, one way or another, so we can start to plan properly for the future.

Without the 10 point penalty that they were dealt they would be ninth in the Premier League and closer to Champions League qualification than relegation, and the club need to start finding a way to plan for stability going forward.
They can’t do that if they don’t know who is going to be paying the bills going forward so the quicker this decision gets made the better for everyone involved. It shouldn’t take this long and it’s not fair on the fans, but we already know they don’t care about us.
