Injury Expert delivers verdict Everton sensation Joel Catesby undergoes surgery on torn meniscus
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
Everton winger Joel Catesby will have to be patient for a while after tearing his meniscus in April, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The Toffees under-18s winger has revealed that recovery took four months and he wasn’t back to a 100 per cent until September.
The injury expert has thrown light on the surgery he had to undergo in order to return to playing football after months on the sidelines.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“He has to stay the course and be patient and methodical with his rehab.
“The good news here is that it sounds like he underwent a meniscus repair which comes with better outcomes than removing the torn piece of meniscus which is called partial meniscectomy.”
The teenager moved to Goodison Park at the age of four and has been at the club ever since, making his way up the ranks.

He has been known to be a pacey winger and has featured in a handful of games for the under-18s side this season.
The Toffees staff will be hoping that he does not suffer any more setbacks and also sticks to the training course that has been set up for him.
