Everton fans bring ‘hundreds’ of anti-Premier League cards into Turf Moor despite club bans
Everton fans brought hundreds of anti-Premier League cards into Turf Moor despite Burnley issuing bans on bringing protest banners to the game, according to Shamoon Hafez.
The BBC Sport journalist shared that the cards were held aloft in the away end before the game, with the wave of pink clear to see as fans continued their ongoing protest.
This comes following the ten-point deduction handed to Everton by the Premier League for a breach of profit and sustainability rules, which fans feel was an overly severe punishment.

Hafez shared the update via the BBC Sport live blog [17:33], writing: “Burnley had issued bans on Everton fans bringing banners and protest cards into Turf Moor for this game.
“The warning has not been successful, Toffees fans held aloft hundreds of anti-Premier League cards before the game in their own corner of the stadium.”
These fans won’t be stopped
As Everton fans have taken to singing in their last few games – “We shall not be moved.” That goes for the Premier League, to Sky Sports, and to all the clubs despite their best attempts to keep the protests quiet despite the fans’ frustrations.
When these fans get something behind them, they will take some stopping. Burnley banning the protest banners was not enough, and it was never going to be sufficient to stop these fans from making their voices heard.

Everton have appealed the decision from the Premier League and will be hoping to have that points deduction reduced, with the backing of their fans and constant protesting since the decision was made, those feelings have been made clear.
It is no shock that the protests have continued this week, and the away fans will continue to do so until the outcome of the appeal. It is something for them to get behind and it has inspired the team on the pitch – so, for now, it is what it is.
