BBC pundit wowed by what Everton star Jack Harrison did v Fulham, ‘wonderful’
BBC Sport pundit Michael Brown was left wowed by what Jack Harrison did as Everton lost on penalties to Fulham in the Carabao Cup at Goodison Park.
The Toffees were aiming to continue their Premier League winning run by securing an unprecedented EFL Cup semi-final place against the Cottagers at Goodison Park on Tuesday (19 December).
Fulham took the lead when Michael Keane inadvertently turned the ball into his own net and Everton tried to find the equaliser when Harrison pulled off a tremendous skill but saw his shot skew just wide of the Fulham goal.

And Brown, speaking on BBC Radio Sports Extra (19 December, 8:59 pm) was left stunned by Harrison’s skill to conjure up the opportunity.
He said: “That started with a ball in behind to Nathan Patterson, he brought it down with a wonderful technique.
“Jack Harrison pulling it onto his left foot and it is a wonderful effort, he deserves more there.”
Abject
Indeed, it was a tremendous skill from the Leeds United loanee who was terribly close to levelling things for Everton but other than that Harrison was rather abject for the Toffees.
Everton could certainly count themselves unlucky to be behind after Michael Keane’s own goal but these things happen in football and it was a test of Dyche’s side to pull themselves back and get a result.

To do that, Dyche’s attackers needed to conjure up some magic but it was a night to forget for Harrison as he was largely anonymous before his chance in the second half.
Harrison has certainly contributed heavily to Everton’s recent form of four consecutive wins but when fans needed him to pull a rabbit out of the hat to hand the Evertonians an EFL Cup semi-final date, he was nowhere to be seen and wasn’t the only one.
Dyche will of course be disappointed as much as the Goodison Park faithful as they missed out on an EFL Cup semi-final date.
