Phil McNulty shares ‘rest assured’ Everton verdict as Manchester City and Chelsea claim made
Everton fans will not forget about potential investigations into other clubs, according to BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty.
The verdict comes after the club were hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
The sanction saw the Merseyside outfit drop from 14th place to 19th place in the league table, but they have since climbed up to 16th place.
On a BBC Sport Q&A, McNulty was asked the question: “Has there been any indication that any other club will be subject to a review of the Premier League by an independent commission this season, are the investigations into Manchester City and Chelsea going to drag on until everyone has forgotten about them?”
The journalist replied: “Not yet. And I think we can rest assured no one will forget about any potential investigations/investigations into clubs. Especially Everton fans after the 10-point deduction imposed on them.”

Everton supporters can understandably still be angry at the decision to deduct the club 10 points due to other clubs not receiving punishments.
But for now it seems that manager Sean Dyche has moved on from that decision, with the Toffees currently enjoying a superb run of form.
The man in the dugout will have been keen to shake off the distraction as soon as possible, something he failed to do when Manchester United eased past the Toffees at Goodison Park in their first match since the deduction.
But following that 3-0 defeat, the Merseyside outfit have climbed back up the standings thanks to four superb wins in a row.
Dyche’s men have outsmarted all of their opponents lately, defeating Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley in their last four games.
They now have the chance to extend that winning run into the League Cup, with Fulham travelling to Goodison Park for a quarter-final clash on Tuesday (19 December).
