Roy Keane and Ian Wright predict scoreline for Everton showdown v Tottenham in Premier League
Roy Keane and Ian Wright disagreed on their predictions for Everton v Tottenham as the former forecasted an Everton loss while the latter envisaged a draw.
Keane felt that Jill Scott’s guess of 3-0 to Spurs was harsh, citing that Everton had a set-piece goal in them to take the home side’s clean sheet away at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Former Arsenal striker Wright was far more confident in the Toffees, backing Sean Dyche’s men to claim a point on the road and score twice away to Spurs for the first time since May 2019.

“Everton will have a goal in them from a set piece – 3-1 [to Tottenham],” Keane said on the Stick to Football podcast on Thursday (21 December).
Wright added: “I’d have gone 2-2.”
Drama-filled fixture
Tottenham v Everton is usually a fixture that promises goals and drama, with the two sides experiencing just a single 0-0 stalemate since 2016. However, the Toffees being without a win against Spurs in the previous five meetings makes for bad reading.
The last time Everton claimed victory was the famous FA Cup thriller in 2021, where a 4-4 match was finally decided by a Bernard goal in extra time to dump Spurs from the Fifth Round.
Ange Postecoglou’s men experienced an incredible start to the Premier League season, going unbeaten in their opening 10 fixtures. The team’s form has dropped since, though, opening the door for Everton to attack.

And with Spurs’ injury crisis, Dyche’s men have the perfect opportunity to strike, which could potentially see them move nine points clear of the relegation zone with a victory.
Everton might be two games too late, however. Despite the absence of Micky van de Ven, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur, the London side have rediscovered their previous form in 4-1 and 2-0 wins over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
The visitors are placed fifth in the Premier League for their away form this season, while Spurs have lost several games at home already to the likes of West Ham, Aston Villa and Chelsea.
Anything could happen.
In other Everton news, a club shareholder has gone on record to slam a “terrible” development surrounding the Toffees and has made an admission on Sean Dyche.
