Ex-Everton Scout blasts ‘spiteful’ Burnley chief after what happened at Turf Moor, tells him to ‘grow up’
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King has blasted Burnley chairman and owner Alan Pace following their recent match against Everton at Turf Moor.
According to the Mirror (16 December), Pace did not make any reference to Sean Dyche in his programme notes ahead of the meeting.
The game on Saturday (16 December), which Everton won 2-0, was Dyche’s first visit to his former club since Pace sacked him in April 2022.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “What is he going to prove whether you leave him out or not? Especially somebody who has been at the club as long as you have.
“It seems a bit spiteful to me, because obviously Dyche is held in higher esteem than what the chairman of Burnley is. And maybe it is his little dig to say ‘well I am here, I’m still at Burnley, he’s not.’ But hang on a minute, he sacked Dyche.
“Dyche did a good job at Burnley, and would deserve the praise from any board member of the way he served that football club. So to not put him in the programme notes, come on, grow up.

“He was welcomed back, that’s for sure. The crowd welcomed him back when he walked out onto the pitch, he good a very good ovation all the way down to where he was positioned on the touchline.
“He acknowledged the fans, and they acknowledged him. So as for no programme notes, if that’s his little dig at Dyche, should he be chairman?”
In other Everton news, Darren Bent is “surprised” that “bigger clubs” have not made a move for one “brilliant” Toffees player.
