Manchester United transfer news as Amad Diallo decision made as Everton wait

Everton are showing a keen interest in signing Manchester United attacker Amad Diallo on loan, according to Seb Ecrivain Foot.

The Les Bons Conceil Du Sports editor reported on Twitter on Tuesday (26 December) that United are ready to loan out Diallo next month.

However, fellow Premier League sides Fulham, Crystal Palace and Wolves are also said to be showing an interest, as are Championship pair Sunderland and Southampton.

Diallo has been capped four times by the Ivory Coast and has been named as part of their preliminary squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Smart move

Diallo lit up the Championship with Sunderland last season when scoring 14 goals and assisting three more in 39 appearances.

That led to interest from plenty of Premier League clubs in the summer, including Everton, but United decided to keep him on their books.

However, not helped by an injury issue, Diallo has yet to play a single time in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.

Everton

Now nearing a return to action, possibly in time for the AFCON next month, the Ivorian looks likely to spend more time away from Old Trafford.

Everton would only have his services for a few months, but he could be exactly what Sean Dyche is after in the final third.

Diallo has the ability to find the net and assist others, which could see him play just off Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Loans may be Everton’s best bet in January, and in Diallo, they have a hungry player who looks ready to step up at Premier League level.

In other Everton news, a journalist says he would be “very surprised” if a certain development happened at Goodison Park next month.
