Manchester City early team news v Everton: Erling Haaland misses out on XI

Three key Manchester City players are set to miss out on the starting lineup against Everton on Wednesday (27 December), according to FPL MCFC.

The reliable Man City news page, which revealed the correct lineup for the club’s clash against Aston Villa on 6 December, tweeted on Wednesday that Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias and Jeremy Doku will not start against the Toffees.

The Premier League champions return to league action on the back of picking up the Club World Cup trophy following their 4-0 victory over Brazilian side Fluminense on 22 December.

Bonus

It’s an absolutely massive bonus for Everton that Haaland doesn’t look set to start against them after he has continued his impressive scoring record in English football this season.

While the Norweigan might not be scoring at the ridiculous rate he did last season, he is still by far the most dangerous forward in the Premier League, having scored 14 goals in 15 matches.

Dias and Doku are also a miss for Man City as the former has been one of the most reliable centre-backs in the top flight over the past few years, while the latter has been in fine form since joining from Rennes over the summer.

Everton

It’s never going to be an easy game against a Citizens side, which is full of quality, but the Toffees’ chances of picking up a result have gone up massively with those three not starting at Goodison.

Sean Dyche will, however, be looking for his players to focus on their own game heading into the contest as they look to create some breathing room again between themselves and the sides in the relegation zone.

In other Everton news, Dyche has revealed what he told Andre Gomes about his future at Goodison Park.
