Sean Dyche to axe Beto, two changes – Everton predicted XI v Wolves

Sean Dyche could make two changes following a decent Everton display against the Premier League champions – Manchester City.

The Toffees took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break against Pep Guardiola’s side, forcing the Man City defence into several mistakes. However, the opposition quality was too much for Everton as they shipped three second-half goals.

Dyche has the opportunity to change his team as key players return from injury. But it could be a game too soon for Abdoulaye Doucoure and Ashley Young, who both missed the previous match at Goodison Park.

As always, Everton is expected to keep his place in the Everton starting XI. Some are blaming the goalkeeper for the capitulation on Thursday night but his six saves against the likes of Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva prove otherwise.

Club captain Seamus Coleman could be in line to start his first game since the 3-0 victory over Newcastle United earlier this month. The Irishman suffered an injury and has been working his way back to full fitness, claiming a spot on the bench against Man City.

Dyche is unlikely to change his centre-back partnership of James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite anytime soon, with Vitalii Mykolenko expected to continue impressing at left-back in Everton’s solid defence.

Following four consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League, the Toffees have conceded in each of their last three fixtures in all competitions. So the inclusion of experienced Coleman could make all the difference against Wolves.

Andre Gomes could make this third appearance in a row since his long-awaited return against Tottenham Hotspur, in which he scored Everton’s only goal of the game. However, he could swap positions with James Garner, who has impressed further forward.

Idrissa Gana Gueye’s absence has opened the door for Amadou Onana to be one of the first names on the Everton teamsheet and could make his 16th league appearance of the season.

With uncertainties over Doucoure’s fitness still, Garner could start behind the striker as an attacking midfielder as he did against Spurs. He managed to maintain a 93 per cent successful pass rate in the advanced position, registering two shots on target and making 10 passes into the final third. [FotMob]

Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison both impressed against Man City and will be expected to start alongside Gomes and Onana in midfield, supporting the striker with runs down the wing.

Despite Beto’s selfless performance against Man City, Calvert-Lewin could start against Wolves on Saturday, looking to score his first goal since West Ham in October.
