Jamie Carragher predicts result of Wolves v Everton in Premier League clash at Molineux

Jamie Carragher has predicted Everton will claim a 2-1 win away at Wolves when the sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday (30 December).

The Toffees make the trip to Molineux on the back of three successive losses in all competitions, including back-to-back defeats at the hands of Tottenham and Manchester City in the league.

Wolves have defeated Chelsea and Brentford over the festive period, meanwhile, but Carragher tipped this contest to go against the form book in his Super Six predictions.

Everton

Decent fixture

Wolves may have turned things around over the past week or so, whereas Everton’s results have gone the opposite way, but the Toffees would be above their opponents in the table if not for their points deduction.

Everton were deeply unlucky not to get anything off Tottenham last week – some would even argue they deserved all three points – and they were also potentially a dodgy referee decision away from holding Man City.

Those league defeats came on the back of four successive victories without conceding – against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley – so Sean Dyche needs to get the side back to those levels.

Everton

Molineux is hardly the most intimidating of grounds and, on the face of it, this does seem like a decent fixture to get back to winning ways – or at least to stop the rot in terms of defeats.

Carragher also predicted Everton would lose to City – albeit that is hardly sticking his neck on the line – so let’s hope he gets this one right as well.
