Kevin Campbell smashes into Michael Keane in Everton loss v Wolves

Kevin Campbell has targeted Michael Keane for his poor defending as Everton shipped three goals in an embarrassing defeat to Wolves.

The defender has been third choice at Goodison Park under Sean Dyche, with James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite the preferred centre-back partnership this season.

However, due to certain injuries, Dyche started with a back five against Wolves, including Keane alongside the aforementioned duo, and he was to blame for the second goal in the 3-0 loss.

The former Everton striker said live on Final Score on Saturday (30 December, 4:17 pm): “I look at this Everton back five and something has to be wrong.

“Hwang makes one run and is first to the ball. Michael Keane really has to close him down.”

Bad day at the office

The Toffees have now lost three consecutive games after a set of brilliant results against Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley, claiming four wins on the bounce.

It seemed that Everton had escaped the threat of relegation following their 10-point deduction last month but with Luton Town’s recent results, the Toffees are back in the thick of it and a damning defeat to Wolves will not help their cause.

The 30-year-old has been axed by Dyche as a starter, making just four league starts this season. So it would be understandable if the centre-back is a little rusty against Wolves, who are in free-flowing form with wins over Chelsea and Brentford.

However, it is growing evermore likely that the former Manchester United player will be moving on from Goodison Park either in the January transfer window or the summer.

It is a sad end to a longlasting career at Goodison Park. The defender has made over 200 appearances in Everton colours, sticking with the Toffees through thick and thin. But his future at the club looks to be over, especially after a poor display against Wolves.

In other Everton news, Paul Brown shared whether Everton would sell two players in January.
