Concerns emerge for Everton and Nottingham Forest as further charges on the cards

Everton and Nottingham Forest will learn if they will be handed any charges by the Premier League, according to Martyn Ziegler.

The Times journalist reported on 2 January that there are concerns about the Toffees being hit with a fresh charge.

Thus far, they’ve already been hit with a 10-point deduction for breaching the league’s Profit & Sustainability rules.

Ridiculous

The potential for Everton to face a second charge for breaching financial rules, despite already receiving a 10-point deduction, raises concerns about fairness, especially when compared to the lack of significant actions against Manchester City and Chelsea.

The disparity in treatment is evident, with City facing a staggering 115 charges of financial rules breaches and Chelsea undergoing investigations into off-the-books payments.

Toffees fans have a legitimate right to be frustrated as the club could face additional penalties, impacting their performance in the ongoing season.

The haphazard enforcement or apparent leniency towards certain clubs diminishes the integrity of these regulations.

The lack of transparency and consistency in enforcing financial rules fosters resentment among fans, questioning the fairness of the regulatory system in English football.

Instead of the appeal reducing the points deduction, this seems to have the opposite effect and it’s certainly not how anything that’s governed fairly should operate.

In other Everton news, a club shareholder has gone on record to slam a “terrible” development surrounding the Toffees and has made an admission on Sean Dyche.
