Simon Jordan tells Jim White if Everton will face another points deduction
Simon Jordan doesn’t believe Everton will receive another points deduction after a development has emerged.
The Times reported on Tuesday (2 January) that the Toffees will find out in the next two weeks whether they will receive a second penalty for breaching the rules regarding financial fair play (FFP), with Nottingham Forest also at risk.
Asked by host Jim White on talkSPORT on Wednesday (3 December, 11:16am) whether that could be a reality for the Blues, pundit Jordan said he doesn’t think so as he named Chelsea as the club who are going to be closest to breaching the Premier League’s spending rules.

“Will there be another one (points deduction) on the horizon soon?” asked White.
“I don’t think so,” said Jordan. “I think Chelsea are going to be close and they’re going to have challenges because they continue to sign the amount of players they’ve signed, given the fact they’re now not allowed to put them on eight-year contracts. They can’t continue with that policy.”
Can’t happen
It would be extremely harsh if Everton were to be hit with another points deduction for breaching FFP rules after they were hard done by in the first instance.
It doesn’t sound as though that will be the case, though, with Jordan suggesting that the Toffees are unlikely to suffer a similar fate this time around.
They simply can’t afford to receive another punishment as the club’s financial problems have been widely noted and their last 10-point deduction has left them battling it out for Premier League survival again.

It’s no real surprise that Chelsea have been named as the club most in danger as it’s hard to understand how they can continue to do business after already spending so much money.
It will be a tense wait for all the clubs involved to see how the situation pans out, but there seems to be optimism on Merseyside that another punishment isn’t on the way.
In other Everton news, Paul Brown has mooted a new contract for an exit-linked Toffees player.
