Everton have to accept silly money offer for January transfer – Ex-Scout
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King has insisted that Everton have to say yes if Saudi Arabian clubs come calling to sign Andre Gomes in the January transfer window.
Football Transfers reported on 3 January that the Toffees are looking to offload the midfielder this month, with Benfica and Saudi clubs all mentioned.
Ex-Everton Scout, King, believes that “Silly money” could be offered for Gomes, who has a question mark over his head after only just returning from that nasty injury.

“That ankle injury was very nasty,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“He looks a bit slower now, and if they’re going to sell a player abroad, he would be one of interest as long as he goes through the medical alright.
“He’s done really well to get back and he’s been in and out the side recently. There’s no doubt that the only reason you go to Saudi Arabia is for the money, because of the football.

“You can put whatever name you can down because everyone is available if a Saudi Arabian side wants to buy them, as far as I’m concerned how can you turn down those teams paying four or five times over the odds?
“He’s the sort of player who could move abroad, that’s for sure. I quite like him, he’s a tough boy but I just think he’s lost quite a bit of pace and some of the timing in his tackling has been a question mark over him.
“If Saudi Arabia comes in and offers silly money for a player, the club has to say yes.”
