Ex-Everton Employee: Player clearly unhappy after transfer latest
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King has insisted that Mason Holgate cannot be happy with his situation at Southampton right now after leaving Everton on loan in the summer.
The Toffees defender has only made five appearances in the Championship this season, with no option to return to Everton during the January transfer window, despite suggestions of a recall.
The ex-Everton Scout admitted that with the Saints doing well, it has to be something against Holgate which is not beneficial to anyone at Goodison Park.

“Holgate’s not playing, is he,” he exclusively told Goodison News. “It’s hardly beneficial for Everton.
“If he’s not good enough for Southampton, then Southampton should move him back to Everton.

“How is the deal structured though? If Southampton are doing quite well in the Championship, it must be something against the boy, is he not happy there?
“He can’t be happy if he isn’t playing.”
As things stand, Holgate is set to remain at Southampton with the prospect of little-to-no football on the horizon for him unless injuries and suspensions take their toll on the Saints.
