Everton in 50:50 battle to complete Hannibal Mejbri signing from Manchester United
Everton are in a 50:50 battle with Sevilla over the loan signing of Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to the Guardian.
The British publication reported on its website on Sunday [7 January] that United are open to offloading Mejbri for the second half of the season.
In a report written by Will Unwin, it is stated that the Tunisian is expected to join either Everton or LaLiga side Sevilla before the window closes.
Mejbri has previously spent time on loan in the Championship with Birmingham City, where he was hailed as “absolutely class” by Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie.
Make it happen
Mejbri has been on the fringes at Old Trafford since breaking into the first-team picture, but he has still featured nine times this season.
That is not a bad tally for a player who is still aged just 20, even if United are a shadow of the elite club they were a decade or so ago.
Mejbri opted to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place in the summer, but his lack of minutes means he should be more open to an exit now.

Everton were previously linked with the youngster back in August and this is a move that makes even more sense right now.
Sean Dyche would happily welcome another central midfielder to Goodison Park, especially one who has a bit of a point to prove.
Money is not going to be readily spent this month, if at all, so bringing in a Premier League player on loan makes perfect sense.
In other Everton news, a “bitter” Toffees fan was ridiculed live on talkSPORT for something he said.
