Everton loanee Stanley Mills injury update emerges amid ‘horrible’ FA Cup incident
Everton loanee Stanley Mills had to be stretched off while representing Oxford United in the FA Cup against Coventry City on Saturday, 6 January.
The BBC reported on 8 January that the 20-year-old winger will be ruled out for the rest of the season and the club also confirmed it by saying he will be returning to Finch Farm.
Oxford manager Des Buckingham spoke about the incident in the game his side lost 6-2 and labelled it a “horrible” moment.

He said: “It was a horrible moment. He has had a great first half of the season and is very popular with fans and players.”
Hope he gets well soon
Mills’ injury occurred as he twisted while attempting a shot, leading to immediate distress and his subsequent stretchered-off departure.
The injury is likely to involve ligament or cartilage damage, necessitating a thorough rehabilitation process.
The standard recovery is likely to involve rest, physiotherapy and potentially surgical intervention.

Given the severity, the 20-year-old is expected to miss the remainder of the season, followed by a summer dedicated to rigorous rehabilitation efforts to regain full fitness.
Returning to Everton for treatment is advantageous as the parent club is familiar with Mills’ medical history and has the resources to provide comprehensive care.
The collaborative approach between Oxford and Everton ensures a coordinated effort to support Mills during his recovery, reflecting the clubs’ mutual commitment to the player’s well-being.
The Toffees also have more doctors and sports scientists than Oxford does so it’ll be easier and more beneficial for the player to be treated there.
In other Everton news, a Toffees-linked player is now in advanced talks to secure a move to Sheffield United in the January transfer window.
