Ex-Everton Scout hits out at Sean Dyche complaints with new windfall on cards
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King believes Everton manager Sean Dyche cannot complain about having to play an FA Cup replay against Crystal Palace.
The Toffees will host the Eagles at Goodison Park on Wednesday (17 January) after the clubs drew their third round clash 0-0.
The two Premier League sides played out the stalemate at Selhurst Park last Thursday (4 January), with Dominic Calvert-Lewin sent off for Everton, although the decision has since been overturned.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “The managers are not happy, but the FA Cup is the only thing they’ve got left, Crystal Palace and Everton, so I don’t know what they’re complaining about. It’s one game, they’re not playing in Europe or the League Cup.
“I just think the replay in the FA Cup is tradition. I’m just glad they don’t have a penalty shootout after the first game, and they still rely on why the FA Cup was formed over the years.
“I like the fact that clubs get another chance, a bit of extra revenue. I think certainly what the TV has got to start looking at is trying to help clubs from the lower leagues.

“It’s going to be a hell of a chance for Newport County or Eastleigh, the winners are going to play Manchester United, it’s their cup final.
“Scrapping replays is already being played around with. We had the third round of the FA Cup mostly played in one day, but now it’s played over five days, and even the round isn’t complete when they are doing the draw.”
