Manchester United pressure Hannibal Mejbri to join Everton on loan, decision next week

Manchester United are pressuring Hannibal Mejbri to join Everton on loan instead of Sevilla, according to journalist Alonso Rivero.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (13 January), the Relevo journalist reports that the Red Devils want the Tunisia international to move to Goodison Park to get Premier League experience.

Hannibal would prefer to go to Sevilla however and the Spanish club are still confident of getting a deal over the line, with a final decision expected next week.

“Manchester United continues to pressure Hannibal Mejbri to go to Everton,” he wrote.

“Sevilla is optimistic that the player’s will will prevail. Everything will be resolved next week.”

Chance

If the player doesn’t want to come to Everton, then is this a loan deal worth pursuing really or should the club step away from it?

The club clearly feel that there is a chance for him to come to Goodison Park and make a real impact in the team, but the player seems intent on going to Spain instead.

Everton

If he doesn’t want to be here then it’s clear that his mind will be elsewhere if he did end up signing for Sean Dyche’s side, and if he didn’t get into the team straight away then that could be an issue when it comes to his commitment levels.

But when there is a player as talented as he is available, and the selling club want to bring him to your club, it’s not something that is easy to walk away from and that’s why Everton are still at the table.

It’s an interesting deal to watch and pay attention to in the coming days, but there could yet be some twists to come in this transfer saga.
