Everton scouts in attendance as Luiz Henrique January loan deal mooted at Goodison Park

Everton were among a dozen clubs, including some from the Premier League, who sent scouts to watch Luiz Henrique during Real Betis’ clash against Granada on 13 January, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Spanish news outlet reported on 15 January that, while Everton are interested in pursuing a January deal, financial constraints mean they would only be able to offer a loan deal with no obligation to buy.

It is said that Betis have already turned down several loan offers for the striker although he could look to speed up his potential options in Spain or across Europe.

Any deal would be unlikely

With a loan move seemingly off the table, unless the club can figure out a way to insert an option or obligation to buy into the deal, and with the level of interest reportedly surrounding the player, it seems unlikely that Henrique would arrive at Goodison Park this month.

The 23-year-old winger has been a bit-part player at Betis so far this season, making just 12 appearances in La Liga with only four of those coming from the start, although with Everton scouts in attendance, he impressed in his display against Granada.

Despite not recording a single goal or assist, Henrique made three key passes, completed eight out of nine attempted dribbles, won 12 of 17 ground duels and created two big chances. [Sofascore]

Aside from his disappointing end-product this season, having scored no goals and picked up just two assists in the league so far, there is clear potential in his talent and he could be an exciting one to watch in the coming seasons with the Toffees interested.
