Ex-Everton Scout makes Sean Dyche plea ahead of FA Cup replay v Crystal Palace
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King believes Everton manager Sean Dyche has got to go full strength for the FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace.
The Toffees are taking on the Eagles in a third round replay on Wednesday (17 January) after their 0-0 draw earlier this month.
Goodison Park plays host to the encounter between the two Premier League clubs, with King suggesting that a cup run will be very beneficial to Everton.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “They’ve got to go full strength. Everton have a decent history in the FA Cup. If anything is going to generate a good feeling for the club, the fans and the players, it is a run in the FA Cup.
“It usually goes hand in hand with how you’re playing in the league as well. If you’re winning in both, there’s a good atmosphere within the football club. I’d sooner lose in the final than go out in the third round. The fans haven’t got much else at the moment.”

Both Dyche and Palace manager Roy Hodgson would have wanted to avoid a replay at all costs given the busy schedule.
But neither club could find a goal at Selhurst Park earlier this month, with the Toffees finishing the match with 10 men after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s red card.
The striker was sent off for a foul on Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne, although that decision has since been overturned.
In other Everton news, Chris Sutton cannot believe it live on BBC amid a new charge against the Goodison Park outfit.
