Tottenham transfer update emerges on Jarrad Branthwaite in Everton news
Tottenham continue to retain an interest along with Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
The Daily Mail reports on 22 January that despite signing Radu Dragusin, Spurs retain an interest in securing Branthwaite’s services.
Despite spending £26.7million on the centre-back, the North London club still want the Toffees defender.
The report reads: “Tottenham may have signed Radu Dragusin but that hasn’t prevented them from maintaining a watching brief on Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
“Confidential readers are well aware that the highly-rated 21-year-old has drawn attention from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City while Chelsea have also registered interest ahead of the summer.
“Tottenham were thought to have dropped interest after signing Dragusin this month but they remain the hunt as they prepare to build their squad further in the summer. Branthwaite’s homegrown status is another attraction for Premier League sides.”
Tough to hold on
The financial allure of clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea poses a significant challenge for Everton to retain the services of Branthwaite.
The idea of challenging for the top honours in football could tempt the 21-year-old away from Everton.
However, it might be in Branthwaite’s best interest to consider staying at Everton, especially under the management of Sean Dyche.
While the financial pull is strong elsewhere, playing regularly under Dyche’s guidance could contribute significantly to his development.
A couple of seasons gaining valuable experience and game time in the Premier League with Everton might enhance Branthwaite’s skills and provide him with a more prominent role, making him a more attractive prospect for top clubs in the future.

However, at the end of the day, it might come down to what the centre-back wants and if he fancies a move then perhaps it could happen in the summer.
