Goodison dressing room revolt on the cards after latest financial development – Ex-Everton employee
Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…
Bryan King doesn’t believe Everton would get anywhere near £100million for the sale of midfielder Amadou Onana this month.
The verdict comes amid suggestions that the Toffees may have to sell some key players amid their ongoing financial issues.
According to Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas (1 January), the club could have their “financial resolve” tested this month as “significant interest” remains in both Onana and defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “They aren’t going to get anywhere near fees like £80million-£100million for Onana, that’s for sure. I wouldn’t pay £80million-£100million for him. If they get docked more points, the players are not going to be happy, especially the so-called star names.
“I look at that squad of players, and it’s very, very difficult to see who, unless there were two or three of them, could generate anywhere near £100million. That is what is needed to try and level out the playing field here for Everton.

“It seems as though there is one financial irregularity after another. Now it’s also Nottingham Forest, they signed something like 23 players.
“It’s not really surprising that they are coming under financial review. I think Everton at this moment in time are not the Everton Football Club I worked for.”
