Luton Town early teams news v Everton: Marvellous Nakamba development in quadruple update for FA Cup clash

Luton Town have shared an update on four of their players ahead of their upcoming FA Cup encounter against Everton.

The Toffees welcome their Premier League rivals to Goodison Park on Saturday (27 January) for the fourth round clash.

Both clubs needed third round replays to make it to this stage, with Everton overcoming Crystal Palace and Luton overcoming Bolton.

“On the personnel front, Edwards will be without the services of Jordan Clark, with the midfielder suspended after picking up two bookings in the games against Bolton in the previous rounds,” as per the official Luton website.

“Mads Andersen remains unavailable, while Issa Kabore remains on international duty with Burkina Faso after his country reached the last-16 of the African Nations Cup.

“Midfielder Marvellous Nakamba has had an operation on his meniscus, but will remain sidelined for several months. ‘I love his smile around the place and, while he’s still smiling, you can tell he’s desperate to be out on the pitch,’ said the manager.”

Weakened

Luton will undoubtedly be weaker without those four players for the huge FA Cup tie, with the visitors undoubtedly wanting to leave Goodison with a win and progression to the next round of the famous competition.

But Everton manager Sean Dyche will also be desperate for a cup run amid a difficult time for the club behind the scenes.

That difficult time has transpired onto the pitch, with the Toffees potentially facing another Premier League points deduction, having already been docked 10 points this season.

Luton will, of course, be following proceedings carefully, with the Hatters just one point and one place behind the Goodison Park club in the table.

Luton do, however, have a game in hand over Everton, with both clubs currently in real danger of dropping down into the Championship.

The visitors can take great confidence going into the match from their recent history at Goodison, with the club having picked up their first ever Premier League win there back in September.

In other Everton news, Kaveh Solhekol has name-dropped the Toffees in a “very careful” January transfer window verdict.
