Sky Sports pundit cringes at Jack Harrison moment in Everton loss v Luton
Lee Hendrie was quick to point out Luton Town goalkeeper Tim Krul’s mistake as Jack Harrison scored for Everton in their FA Cup defeat on Saturday (27 January).
Luton opened the scoring through a Vitalii Mykolenko own goal, before Harrison equalised, only for Cauley Woodrow to steal the game with the last kick of the game.
Despite an xG of just 0.04 [FotMob] and the shot being at a good height for the former Norwich City keeper to push away, the ball squirmed under Krul and allowed Everton back into the tie.
“He [Jack Harrison] doesn’t hit it that well. Tim Krul should save it,” Lee Hendrie said live on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday (27 January, 4:16pm).
“He gets enough on that the save but it trickles under him, and rolls across the line. Now we’ve got a game on our hands. Oh, it’s horrible – Krul won’t be happy.”
Need a bit of luck
A team should never be relying on a bit of luck to go their way. However, it should also never be turned down if it comes their way, and Harrison took his slice of luck with the goal.
Beto was also instrumental in the build-up, recording the assist for the equaliser, who was given a lot of stick from the Everton fans due to his poor first-half performance.
A shot-stopper of Krul’s calibre should never be making such a mistake with such high stakes on the line – a place in the FA Cup Fifth Round, although it didn’t matter much in the end.

Harrison has been a vital player since arriving from Leeds United on loan, showing his capabilities and talent despite never being able to settle at a club since his Manchester City days.
It was always going to be a tough tie against Luton, with the visitors at Goodison Park winning in their previous meeting in September, but Sean Dyche knows his side have to be winning those games.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are now ready for a bid for a Goodison Park star as a vulnerability and Dyche stance emerges.
