Jamie Carragher predicts unwanted first for Everton in Premier League clash vs Fulham
Jamie Carragher has predicted that Everton will suffer an unwanted first when they face Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday (30 January).
The Toffees lost the corresponding fixture 1-0 on the opening day of the season through a Bobby De Cordova-Reid goal.
Everton have not lost home and away to Fulham in a single league campaign in 29 previous instances [BBC Sport], but Carragher expects that to change.
The former Liverpool defender backed Fulham to win 2-1 in his Sky Sports Super 6 predictions.
Poor run
Everton cannot afford for their disappointing run of form to continue for much longer if they are to ease these relegation concerns.
The Toffees stopped the rot somewhat with a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa last time out in the league, snapping a run of three successive losses.
There has been an FA Cup third-round replay win over Crystal Palace since then, followed up by a 2-1 reverse to Luton Town in the next round.
Fulham have themselves been on the end of some disappointing results over the past couple of weeks, so both sides will be eager to hit back.
Everton have fared well in this fixture in recent times, having lost on just one of their last seven league trips to Craven Cottage.
A draw would still leave Sean Dyche’s side in trouble, especially with Tottenham and Manchester City next up.
There is no reason why they cannot come back from the capital with all three points, but avoiding defeat is key.
