Everton submit bid to sign Brighton midfielder Jakub Moder in last-gasp deal, response emerges from AMEX

Everton have tabled a bid to sign Brighton midfielder Jakub Moder in a last-gasp deadline day transfer, according to Sportowefakty.

Writing on their website (1 February), the Polish news outlet report that the Toffees made a bid for the Poland ace but he opted to stay at Brighton and earn regular minutes there instead.

Sean Dyche is keen to add to his squad at Goodison Park before the deadline passes, but he will have to battle against relegation without Moder on this occasion.

Shock

Everton have been linked with the odd transfer this month but it was always expected to be quite quiet for the most part.

It was more about keeping the squad together this month with the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Amadou Onana, Arnaut Danjuma and Jarrad Branthwaite all linked with transfers away.

They have been successful in that sense with no first-team exits during January, but unfortunately for for Dyche he has struggled to bring anyone in to strengthen the squad.

Everton

With the club battling against relegation despite the results this season due to the ten-point deduction, the squad needs to be as strong as possible to ensure that they aren’t sent into free-fall.

With a lack of injuries the squad is strong enough but the team has already seen several issues and just this week had only one fit central midfielder available so Moder would certainly bring something. Unfortunately though, it won’t be happening.
