Abdoulaye Doucoure wowed by Richarlison after Everton v Tottenham

Abdoulaye Doucoure has praised Richarlison in the replies to his recent Instagram post after he uploaded a picture taken with a young Everton supporter after the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

Doucoure simply commented “legend” with a blue heart under the post which had several pictures of Richarlison with his “long-time partner” and biggest fan, a young Evertonian named Theo.

This came just one day after the Brazilian had scored twice at Goodison Park to help his Tottenham side to a 2-2 draw, with Jarrad Branthwaite scoring a last-minute equaliser for the Toffees.

Richarlison is still a Blue

Despite the frustration of the occasion which saw him find the net twice and ultimately deny Everton all three points from the clash, the Brazilian proved once again why he is so loved and so missed on the blue side of Merseyside.

A touching picture of friends reunited was shared, and that bond with the fans is something of a rarity in the modern game, with players becoming more protected and sheltered while fans are often villainised and not allowed close enough to form these memories.

That emotional connection between the player and the club was typified by his celebration, having initially thought to celebrate before later bowing his head in apology to the home crowd, who responded by applauding him.

Everton

Tim Sherwood was less than impressed with the celebration as he slammed the Tottenham striker following the game, but these small touches of class from Richarlison are more displays of why he is still loved at Goodison Park.
