Everton injury news v Manchester City: Doctor issues Seamus Coleman verdict

Everton defender Seamus Coleman may be named in the playing XI against Manchester City, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that despite him recently returning to full fitness after his hamstring injury, he may be ready to start and perhaps play 60 minutes in the game.

The Republic of Ireland international came off the bench against Tottenham on Saturday, 3 February to replace the injured Ben Godfrey.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Coleman:

Sounds like he was out with a Grade 1 hamstring strain recently having returned to full fitness in January from a separate injury.

He did return back to training recently and is even back to playing senior games.

While he still might not be at a 100%, he could still be given 60 minutes or so from the start.

Coleman’s leadership needed v Manchester City

Coleman may not be the same player he used to in his heyday, but he’s undoubtedly an importance presence on and off the field.

Sean Dyche is a manager who prioritises organisation over most things and he knows the team looks more balanced with the Republic of International in the squad.

Whether or not he starts against City remains to be seen as it’s going to be an extremely challenging outing for him.

In other Everton news, the Toffees’ transfer deal to sign an in-form player in January would have included a £7m option to buy.
