Dominic Calvert-Lewin axed, Beto starts – Everton predicted XI v Manchester City

Sean Dyche could be set to make changes to his Everton starting lineup for the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees are winless in their last six games in the top flight but have drawn each of their last three including a 2-2 draw with Tottenham last time out, while Pep Guardiola’s side have won 11 of their last 12 in all competitions.

And the manager may now look to shuffle things around with his starting lineup to try and change the fortunes of the team in one of the toughest away days possible.

Jordan Pickford has picked up the most clean sheets of any Premier League goalkeeper so far this season so will start in goal, while Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski will continue as the central defensive pairing.

Dyche could be tempted to switch to a back five for this game but the team haven’t performed too well when they’ve done that this season, so that should see Vitalii Mykolenko remain at left-back while fit-again Seamus Coleman could come back into the side at right-back ahead of Ben Godfrey.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes are still out injured according to the manager and won’t be available, while Amadou Onana is a doubt which leaves the boss with limited options in the centre of midfield.

Idrissa Gueye will likely keep his place as the deepest midfielder alongside James Garner, with Dwight McNeil coming inside also to make the midfield area more packed and filled with energy.

Jack Harrison stole Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal against Tottenham in a tough performance for the loanee but he should keep his place in the side due to a lack of other options, with Arnaut Danjuma also out injured.

Ashley Young should keep his place on the left also, with Dyche well aware of the amount of defending the team is going to need to do during the 90 minutes.

Beto should start over Calvert-Lewin for Everton v Manchester City

Up front Calvert-Lewin has now gone 16 games without a goal for the club and that should spark a change in the side, with Portuguese striker Beto deserving of an opportunity to change the team’s fortunes around in front of goal.
