Everton ace Abdoulaye Doucoure injury update emerges v Crystal Palace – Doctor
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure may undergo a late fitness test ahead of the Crystal Palace clash, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The Toffees play host to Palace at Goodison Park on Monday, 19 February, and the Mali international is a doubt due to a thigh injury.
The injury expert does not believe that a delayed return means that he’s suffered a setback in his rehabilitation but if he’s out any longer then it could mean all is not well behind the scenes.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Doucoure:
“Return timeline targets are grey so it might not be worth reading too much into Doucoure’s delayed return.
“I always expect some fluctuation depending on how the player actually progresses through rehab.
“If he’s out significantly longer, that may hint at a setback.
“However, that seems unlikely as he appears to be in contention for the next game so will perhaps require a late fitness test.“
Everton need Doucoure back soon
Doucoure has perfectly played the number 10 role for Sean Dyche’s side this season, offering an ideal attacking threat along with doing the yard yards defensively.
He was often tasked with being tight on the deepest-lying opposition midfielder to ensure that he does not run play successfully and that attacks came down the wings rather than centrally.

Dyche will also be impressed with his goal-scoring return as he’s found the back of the next six times in 18 Premier League games this term.
